First things first

So before i can start buying studio equipment i going to need a studio computer, however i'm not sure if i should get a Mac pro or get a  custom made Pc?

  1. Hi Marcus, you can start from scratch with your studio, but you need to be pro active in your approach to this. I.e you have to go out and ask, approach studio's find people who have started there own studio. How did they start up?

    Finance look at crowd funding, appeal to your community? Friends family (10 people give you £10 is £100), fund raise to buy your first peace of kit. Tell people you need to raise £300 for a 2nd hand mac, which will get you started. Then say they will be credited for every music track you make with it. Also if you start making money (in the future), you can pay them back?

    Also kickstarter.org and indiegogo.com check out.

  2. cheers rich thanks for the good ideas, I checked out kickstarter.org and indiegogo.com but unfortunately i wouldnt be able to gain any funding from either of them due to the nature of my project, however i have recently been in contact with someone who owns his own studio in Dorset so ill most likely get in contact with him asap.
