I'm currently in my last year of college studying Music technology at Warwickshire college, I'm creating this blog as a project based around creating a hypothetical home studio however with that in mind i have always had an interest in making my own studio, so i was wondering if anyone has any relevant information that could help me with my project this will also help with this later on in life, information regarding sound proofing and suggestions on equipment.

Hi Marcus, you can start from scratch with your studio, but you need to be pro active in your approach to this. I.e you have to go out and ask, approach studio's find people who have started there own studio. How did they start up?
ReplyDeleteFinance look at crowd funding, appeal to your community? Friends family (10 people give you £10 is £100), fund raise to buy your first peace of kit. Tell people you need to raise £300 for a 2nd hand mac, which will get you started. Then say they will be credited for every music track you make with it. Also if you start making money (in the future), you can pay them back?
Also kickstarter.org and indiegogo.com check out.
Cheers

cheers rich thanks for the good ideas, I checked out kickstarter.org and indiegogo.com but unfortunately i wouldnt be able to gain any funding from either of them due to the nature of my project, however i have recently been in contact with someone who owns his own studio in Dorset so ill most likely get in contact with him asap.
